Read-a-thon Hours 3-4

UPDATE FOR HOURS 3&4

Since last update:
Pages: 82 (The Outsiders and Catch Me If You Can)
Time: 75 minutes

TOTALS:
170 pages read
160 minutes reading
34 minutes blogging
20 blogs visited
1 books finished (The Outsiders)
1 caffeine beverage
2 mini challenges (cover attraction @ Book Gazing)

For those of you who asked--I AM a morning person. Scott took the picture below and wanted to know why I didn't use the whole couch. I don't know. If you look closely, you can see Lexi under the table (and of course Maggie by my side).

BOOK GAZING MINI CHALLENGE!

Jodie asked us to pick a book from our stack and take a picture based on the back cover blurb. I chose Fun Home because it is nice and shiny. the back cover: "Bechdel charts her fraught relationship with her late father." My father isn't late and we get along great now, but things weren't always so peachy. Here is a picture of the book and a picture within of me and my dad when I was little. We're "reading" the comics. :)

How's everyone doing??? Thanks for all the great comments--YOU GUYS ROCK!

Hello Maggie! It is funny that you are only using a tiny portion of the couch, but whatever is comfy...:) I can't believe how many pages you have already read!!

I love that your Dad is wearing a tie and laying on the floor with you!! It just says - "I am taking time out to be with my daughter" :)

I will have to make sure to get some pictures with my girls and their Dad like this.

It's also a great comparison to the book!

Wow, you're doing great! I haven't read anything this hour. Yikes. Lucky you being a morning person-as is quite obvious-I'm not. lol.

Love the pic of you and your dad. Cute about the furkids. Buddy is sprawled on the bed by me right now although I imagine not for long. I'll get a pic of him at some point-none of me. Don't want to scare anyone. lol.

Keep it up Trish-you're doing awesome.

That's great, and your cover of Fun Home is much nicer than mine, hee hee. You're doing great with the pages, too!

I have The Outsiders in my pile as well. Not sure if I'll get to it yet but hopefully I will.

Cute photo of you and your dad. I love that he's wearing a tie and suit, but still got down on the floor with you. You're doing really well; a little more than a page a minute.

I like that - the hair is very reminiscent of Bechdel's dad I think.

Good morning, Once again I've blown it and won't be able to fully participate in the read-a-thon. Next time for sure.

Did you know that the read-a-thon has a mention at CrooksandLiars.com, which is one of the political blogs I read.

Here's the link

That should get you all lots of hits, I hope.

I read Fun Home recently, and loved it! I hope that you manage to squeeze it in sometime today, and enjoy it as much as I did. Good luck with the readathon!

I love the picture! I'll have to post one of me sometime today- hopefully AFTER I shower and comb my hair and get dressed and not before!

I want to read "Fun Home" someday. I tried to suggest it for a book club, but that didn't fly, so I'll have to do it on my own.

Tying your photo in was a great idea for the challenge, and it is a sweet picture even on its own.

Enjoy your reading today!

Haha, great creativity!

I am not exactly a morning person, but I do have a tendency to wake up early no matter what. Doesn't mean I'm really awake, though.

Wow, you have been busy!
