Holy Haitus Batman!
Well, I think its been about a month since I've blogged regularly. I finally got my Internet hooked up in the new house yesterday (Hubby and I are no longer in the sticks of Texas, but rather the Big D!!). So, I have been typing typing typing trying to catch up on everything that I haven't been able to say in the past month. These are pictures of my very sad empty bookshelf and the many boxes of books that I still have not unpacked (I do have a few shelves full now and all of my "challenge" books in order).
The kicker is that now that I'm all caught up and starting to get settled, Hubby and I are leaving next Saturday for our cruise to Alaska, so I'll be gone yet again. *Sigh* (Well sort of *sigh* since I'm rockin' excited!)
So, basically here's what I've been up to the past month (in reading anyway). The links will take you to the corresponding post:
Cat's Eye by Margaret Atwood (mostly for fun and because I love all things Atwood)
The Scarlet Pimpernel for the Classics Challenge
Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult (for fun and because I love most things Picoult)
Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquirel for the Something About Me Challenge
My July reads summary
And also my final selection for the Something About Me Challenge
I am still setting up house and job searching, but hopefully I will get to catch up on everyone else's blogs that I love so much.
Thanks for sticking with me!

We should *hopefully* be moving house next month so I understand your lack of blogging. Your book shelf looks lovely and will look even better when it is full of books! I want to read Cats Eye and Keeping Faith, I really enjoy both authors.
Have a fun holiday!
Rhinoa - yes, they are two of my favorites. Good luck with the move! I don't wish that on anyone, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.
Moving sucks! But at least you are there now! Glad to have you back! I'm on a job search of my own these days. We'll have to compare notes!
Stephanie - Good luck with your search! I'll be thinking about you as I post resumes, write application letters, blah blah blah! :)
Wow...a cruise to Alaska!!! Sounds like great fun. Enjoy!
Oh, what a lovely blog you have! Another book fiend, may I add you to my links?
Margaret Atwood's Cat's Eye felt in many ways like the story of my childhood. I haven't read it in years, but I remember feeling exactly how she described (particularly in her peer relationships when friends were not being friends). The Robber Bride is my all time favorite Atwood book.
It's so nice to meet you!
Joy - Thanks! We are very very excited for this trip. I'm toying with the idea of starting a "travelblog" but I am notoriously bad at journaling--except books.
Bellezza - Yes, please do. I've had you on my list for a while, but have not been blogging much lately! I own The Robber Bride and hope to read it soon, but I haven't heard much about it. Glad you liked it. Cat's Eye so far is my least favorite, but I still really enjoyed it. I, too, remembered the emotions and experiences she described in the book. Sometimes it was a little haunting.
Congratulations on getting through the move. I appreciate your stopping by my blog especially since you must have lots to do still; thanks muchly! Anyway, the cruise to Alaska sounds like a blast, have a lovely time. :)
Kristen - No problem...I had a couple of good laughs while I was over there.
