Read-a-thon Hours 16-18

UPDATE FOR HOURS 16-18 (trish is starting to get loopy...)

Since last update:
Pages: 182 (Fun Home and Sam's Letters to Jennifer)
Time: 105 minutes (both reads are REALLY quick...)

TOTALS:
730 pages read
602 minutes reading
255 minutes blogging
114 comments left
2 books finished (The Outsiders, Catch Me If You Can)
4 caffeine beverages
9 mini challenges (see re-read and goofy Trish song minis below)
20 minutes exercise
35 minutes driving
0 Prizes (infinite sad face!!)

Yes, we did read at IHOP, but very little--only for about 30 minutes. I got out of my routine and was really confused when I got home. For some reason I thought I was only out 2 hours, then 4 hours! In reality only 3 hours. I'm on track now.

Scotty is in bed (boo!!!), but he did make me those brownies. :D Once he's in bed, these are the toughest hours for me. Feels so lonely! Anyone else fading a little bit?

Signs I'm doing the Read-a-thon

Um--were the videos not enough? If my camera wasn't dead, I'd sing you all this song:

Oh read-a-thon, I love you so much. Love that I get to read and blog all night with such wonderful buddies. Oh read-a-thon, you are so fun to me. Except when I'm tired and my husband is in bed and my cat can't be found and my tummy is rumbling and I ate too many brownies and my eyes are stinging. But besides all of that--Oh read-a-thon. I love you so much.

You know you can picture it after seeing the videos...huh?

Re-Read Mini-Challenge (my battery is dead, so no pictures for a while)

I don't generally re-read books because I feel like there are so many books that I need to read for the first time. But some that I would like to re-read: The Handmaid's Tale, Wuthering Heights, Persepolis, The Time Traveler's Wife, Remains of the Day, Kafka on the Shore (really, there are SO many!!). :P

Great job on reading. Brownies sound good. It took me a couple of reads to really like/get Wuthering Heights.

Too bad the battery is dead :( I would love to hear you sing! I am not doing the RAT because I knew that I would have a really hard time with Emmory today and Houston was working this weekend. It would have just been too hard, I would have been guilt ridden with either not reading enough or neglecting Emmory. Although I do have to say that being a cheerleader is SO MUCH FUN!!!! I think next time I will actually sign up to be an official cheerleader!!! Am I rambling?!??!!

Yay for brownies!! You're adorable Trish, I love those videos.

I'm fading too. My husband is somehow managing to send me messages though even now that he's asleep. I can't tell if he's got an alarm back there that is waking him up periodically or if they're just timed sends. But it makes it less lonely.

NO WORRIES!!! I'm still here, cheering away! I am pretty much in awe of your ability to both cheerlead and read. I've read, like 140 pages? Or somthing?

OMG I am getting loopy as well. I think I'm going to look back at my posts in the morning and wonder.

I figured you might be getting a bit loopy when you were cheering on my blog. lol. How sweet of hubby to make you brownies. What I wouldn't give to be sharing those with you. I think it might have been a mistake to lay in bed as I am starting to feel my eyes sagging. lol. I'm going to keep at it though! Keep up the excellent work Trish! Over 700 pages-that's awesome!

You have done great today!

Oh goodness yes! I am so sad you can't sing that song...I need little pep :) I can imagine you singing it though.

My hubby just falls asleep on the couch while I keep reading. That is his current state. It really does feel better that he is in the same room, even if I do keep eying him enviously of his sleep.

Those brownies look wonderful! How sweet of Scott to make them for you! I'm bummed that your batteries are't cooperating, I was really looking forward to another Trish video!!! Is Maggie still keeping you company or has she gone to bed as well??

Keep it up, you're doing great!!!

I can TOTALLY picture you singing that song! But I'm sad your batteries have died. I'm a little embarrassed to take any more pictures--I look really horrible! Yay for still being awake! Matt just went to bed as well, but I'm still here!!

114 comments? whoa. I couldn't manage that if I spent the entire 24 hours trying. Since I can't seem to spend less than twenty minutes on each blog the best I could hope for is 72.

I agree wholeheartedly with the first two on your list of worthy re-reads. Thus i had to put the remaining ones in my wishlist. That list is going to be longer than the novel I spent most of today with before too long.

Read in joy

Your song is a classic! I think it should count towards the Classics Challenge (hint hint!). And I had some chocolate cake. I think we're on the same wavelength here!

Yummm....brownies! If you're still up, good luck with the last few hours of the read-a-thon. If not, I hope you're having a very nice sleep. :)

I understand completely. My favorite rereads often have a hard time competing with the towering TBR stack. I hope you get to some of your potential rereads this year! Thanks for participating in my mini-challenge.
